Morning Dip !!

You cant beat a morning ‘open water’ swim in Lake Windermere in my beautiful back garden of the Lake District!

What a way to clear my head, going open water swimming is going to be a new part of my training, fitness and wellness regime. Asking a rally driver to practice a race start was right up my street! The red mist came down, replaced my visor with my goggles……and I was off!

Todays Open water Swimming course included both dry land and in-water skills. I begin the day at 8.45am at the swim base in Ambleside, with an open water skills presentation & briefing session and wetsuit fitting.

It was great, I learned how to swim safely, to navigate effectively and swim in a straight line.  I was in the heart of the best wild swimming. I swam a good 1500m this morning of swimming, with regular breaks.

Thank you very much Pete at Swim the Lakes even gluten free friendly. I would highly recommend.
